Something Wonderful I Missed: Holiday Edition

Something Wonderful I Missed: Holiday Edition is coming to the Littleton Opera House on Sunday, December 7th at 3 PM!

Not Your Mom's Musical Theater returns to the region with a brand new show, featuring holiday music written for or featured in musicals. Not Your Mom’s Musical Theater’s innovative concerts mix great songs from Broadway and off-Broadway musicals with the often hilarious history behind those songs. Four versatile, talented performers, playing a range of characters to live piano accompaniment, will present a concert of holiday selections from musicals, from now classics like “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas” and “We Need A Little Christmas” to lesser-known gems you might have missed from shows as varied as Striking 12 and Promises, Promises. Get into the holiday spirit with a glimpse of musical theater at its finest and simplest – actors onstage, telling a story through music.

The talented holiday tour cast includes NYMMT standouts Mario Arruda, Jocelyn Duford, Sheree Owens, Jessica Plummer, with Artistic Director Jamie Feinberg at the keyboard.

Recommended for ages 10 & up. Tickets: $15 Adults, $12 Students, additional savings for AANNH Members. To save $1 per ticket, purchase your tickets by clicking the button below.

Quotes/Reviews of Not Your Mom's Musical Theater

“If you want theatre that's predictable, safe, familiar, and comfortable, then by all means, stay away from NOT YOUR MOM'S MUSICAL THEATRE. If, however, you like your theatre served up with a big ol' heapin' helpin' of innovation, passion, quirkiness and quality, then get yourself to wherever they happen to be and treat yourself to a feast for the eyes, the ears, the heart and most importantly, the soul.” - Michael J. Curtiss, reviewer for Caught in the Act

"Whether you're a musical theater lover, or just enjoy an evening of lively performances of terrific tunes, you'll have a great time at a NYMMT performance! It's a good thing to support the arts in NH, but its even better when your money is well-spent supporting excellent performances and innovative presentations." - Judy Pancoast, songwriter and performer

"NYMMT" consistently provides cutting-edge, lesser-known -- and FUN! -- theatrical performances. Go." - Kathleen Palmer, Features Editor, Nashua Telegraph

About the Performers

Not Your Mom’s Musical Theater is in its fifth year bringing high-quality, lesser-performed musical theater to southern New Hampshire and beyond. The troupe has presented NH and New England premieres of both Broadway and off-Broadway musicals, and their concert series, Something Wonderful I Missed, is in its third season. These concerts focus on a specific year in musical theater history, with songs and dances presented by versatile performers, with emcees providing the stories behind and context for the musicals presented.

NYMMT’s touring concerts take their best performers and bring a “best of” concert that pulls from both the concerts and the mainstage productions, with an emcee and a live pianist to guide you. The group has performed around New England and in Montreal.

NYMMT’s mainstage performers and production team have been recognized by the NH Theatre Awards (two finalists, one winner, and about a dozen Top 10 nominations), and all of the touring cast has been recognized in this way. Past shows have included Musical of Musicals: The Musical!, the New Hampshire premiere of [title of show], the New England premiere of Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson (winner of Best of Nashua from the Hippo Press), the NH premiere of See What I Wanna See, the New England premiere of Alan Menken’s Weird Romance, and the 50’s spoof Zombie Prom. NYMMT has been featured at the Next Wave of New Musicals festival in Montreal and the New England Theater Conference in Natick, MA, and members of the troupe have been artists-in-residence in NH high schools, offering a series of workshops followed by a performance.
